Shepherd University opened their new residence hall, the Potomac Place. This 80,866 square foot, $22 million building was the first time Shepherd University worked on a building project through a public-private partnership. Within the Potomac Place is a dining operation known as the Riverside Market. These new additions to the university needed logos to attract new students to live on campus.
The names of the new residence hall and dining service were based on the symbolic Potomac River which runs along the university. After multiple sketches, concepts, and revisions the university approved two logos that they felt told the story of Shepherd University.
